Atterbury Payne Solicitors

Lasting Power of Attorney.

Plan ahead with confidence. Our team can help you appoint someone you trust to step in and make decisions for you if you are unable to make your own decisions in the future.

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) lets you appoint someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you’re unable to do so in future. It’s a vital part of planning for later life or unexpected illness — and gives peace of mind to you and your loved ones.

What is a Lasting Power of Attorney?

Life can be unpredictable — an accident, illness, or the effects of ageing can mean you are no longer able to manage your affairs. A registered LPA ensures the people you choose can step in quickly and legally.

Why should I create a Lasting Power of Attorney?

Some reasons to create an LPA are that you:

  • Wish to plan ahead for later life or declining health
  • Are supporting elderly parents or relatives
  • Have received a diagnosis of dementia or other life-changing conditions
  • Run a business and want continuity in case of incapacity
